This painting explores the tension between darkness and light, vulnerability and resilience. Half of the figure is consumed by shadow, yet the other half is illuminated by the warm glow of a single candle. The flame becomes a fragile but persistent symbol of hope - a reminder that even in moments when everything feels heavy and uncertain, light still exists. The work reflects that deeply human state of knowing things are difficult, perhaps unbearable, but holding on to the belief that with persistence, the path forward will lead to brighter ground.
